Judgment, Decree, or Order Required Coverage

Health Care/Dental/Vision

If you need to change your benefit elections due to this life event change, the change in coverage must be consistent with the family status change. For example, if you are issued a QMCSO, you may add your dependent to your coverage. You have up to 30 days after the qualifying event to make the change, unless you or your dependents are eligible for premium assistance under Medicaid or CHIP (you may have up to 60 days). (For information on the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) view the CHIP Notice under Notices on the left menu.)

Life & AD&D Insurance

You may want to consider adding Optional Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Life (AD&D) Insurance for you or your dependents. Life and AD&D insurance provides financial protection for eligible and enrolled associates and family members due to death or covered injury. You have up to 30 days after the qualifying event to make the change.

Health Savings Accounts

Your eligibility to make contributions to an HSA can change mid-year for many reasons. For help determining your prorated HSA contributions after a change, go here: HSA Contributions - mid-year changes. You can make changes to your pretax contributions at anytime during the year by logging into myAGBenefits. Go to: Change my Benefits>Events>Update HSA Contributions.

Flexible Spending Accounts

You may make a change to your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) election. Likewise, if the order requires another individual to provide healthcare coverage for the child you currently cover and coverage is currently provided, then the employee may reduce deposits. If you are adding a child to coverage you can increase your FSA accounts. You have up to 30 days after the qualifying event to make the change.
